On Fire in 2020
I've made the joke multiple times that The Writers of 2020 are beyond insanity. A pack of lunatics hopped up on all the drugs possible couldn't have concocted a more ridiculous tale, and yet here we are. I was betting on cyborg dinosaurs from the future would be next, but really, has November ended up any worse?
Honestly though, 2020 hasn't been that bad for me. Sure, I had a break up at the beginning of the year, but that just lit a fire under my ass to work harder. Even before this mess, I went without seeing people for days. Now I was simply able to get more done.
If all continues at the pace I've been going, I'll finish writing my third book of 2020 by the end of December. I penned one from April to May that was a Cosmic Horror nod to Serial Killers, then over the summer I wrote a Folk Horror novel infused with a health dose of Celestial Power. Recently, I've been finishing up on short stories for another collection. Oh, and the sequel to BLEED AWAY THE SKY has been done for some time and is now sitting in the hands of the publisher.
Aside from writing, I have another big project in the works. I'm hoping to pull the trigger on it around February of 2021, but I don't want to say too much more about it yet. It's taken up a great deal of time and energy these past few months, but I'm really proud of what's coming together. I'm excited to share this project with everyone, and I hope it's well received.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported me this past year. 2020 has been hell for everyone, and your small kindnesses were seen and appreciated. Stay safe gang...
