All the Madness of Right Now
It's always something. Always. Good thing I'm heavily medicated.
Currently I'm juggling numerous projects. Keeping busy helps, although I despise the whole "hurry up and wait" aspect of this industry with the burning rage of ten thousand exploding suns. Anyone who knows me is probably picturing me screaming at my computer right now. I scream at everything.
Cigarettes help, too.
Anyhow, my latest release BLEED AWAY THE SKY continues to sell. Very few reviews, so far. The ones I have managed to get have been relatively positive...
“A mighty solid read, one that feels heavily influenced by Clive Barker and features a welcome dose of Girl Power throughout.” – High Fever Books
“Kept me on the edge of my seat. I was fully invested all the way through.” – Cedar Hollow Horror Reviews
“Otherworldly horrors, psychological strife, and plenty of well done gore.” – Kendall Reviews

Up this summer will be my next novel CELESTIAL SEEPAGE, released by Alien Agenda Publishing. Extra-dimensional Gods, Galactic Oppression, and Ideological Zealots with a small Ohio town as Ground Zero for a reality-shattering conflict. It's fun. There's an additional novella attached to the novel, set in the same universe, and it's utterly ridiculous.
I just finished another book, a 60k word novel that I'm describing as "supernatural splatterpunk." It's the most brutal and disturbing thing I've ever written, definitely different from my last three novels. Straying from cosmic horror, this is a bit more intimate and experimental. I sent it off to an editor last week and hope to have it back by June, when I'll start shopping it around.
Inspire by the song/video YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN by Billie Eilish, I wrote a short story the other day. It involves a girl wearing a crown and covered in spiders. It also addresses the lack of advantages many young women are forced to struggle with in the United States.
Right now, I'm getting started on my next novel. Again, I'm stepping away slightly from cosmic horror in favor of contemporary horror fantasy. I'm going for a very specific theme and objective with this one, and it's likely to be my longest book yet.
Hell, I already have the next two novels after that planned out.
That's what I'm radiating. As for what I'm absorbing... well, when I'm not watching Justice League cartoons on the DC Universe app, I loved The Umbrella Academy. I recently wrote about how much I respect Gerard Way.
I've been listening to a lot of stuff like Cryptex, Kloud, Apashe, Prismo, and Kraddy. All that EDM stuff that I love. Speaking of music, everyone should send Glenn Rolfe pics/videos of Panic at the Disco. Trust me.
The last two book I read were both Lovecraft inspired, and both excellent.
You had Cthulhu Armageddon by C.T. Phipps, a stunning Lovecraft homage set in an apocalyptic future. Phipps hits all the right notes in this action-packed adventure filled with references to the Cthulhu Mythos. Wonderfully familiar yet definitely told in his own voice, I highly recommend for fans of Pete Rawlik and Brian Lumley.
There was also Nightmare in Agate Bay by C.W. Hawes. Inspired by “The Shadow Over Innsmouth,” and taking a cue from such authors as Brian Lumley and Charles Stross, Hawes has added a rich, exciting chapter to the Mythos legacy. Contemporary and adventurous, this Lovecraftian Horror for the 21st century.
Overall, the next few months look good. I'll keep everyone updated on coming releases the best I can. If any authors or reviewers would like a copy of BLEED AWAY THE SKY, please don't hesitate to contact me!
