New Cosmic Horror Collection
I'm putting the finishing touches on a short story collection, looking over the editing and and making sure the tales are up to satisfaction. I think I've settled of 12 stories, 8 of which have been previously published in anthologies by some great people like the folks at Grey Matter Press, Nightscape Press, and Ghostwoods Books. It's been about 6 years in the making, but I wanted to wait until I had quality stories all fitting a general Cosmic Horror theme.
I have the title, taken from one of my favorite tales within. I'll likely have a few people look it over to ensure its worth, but... I'm not sure what to do then. I've sold two novels in the past few years, one to Sinister Grin Press and another to Bloodshot Books, but publishers don't usually have submission windows for collections. All the books I'd done previous to those had either been done as self-press or with the Dark Red Press co-op. I suppose I'll just start bugging other authors until someone spills the secrets.
Honestly, I'm pretty excited about this collection. It's a good overview of where my imagination dwelt these past handful of years. Plus, Sinister Grin has THERE IS DARKNESS IN EVERY ROOM on sale right now for $0.99, Bloodshot Books will have BLEED AWAY THE SKY out in the next year, and I'm 3/4 done with my new novel.
Now if I just didn't have 72 ideas for the next book...
